Jardine River National Park

The Jardine River National Park spans from Captain Billy's Landing to the south to the Escape River in the north.The northern section of the Old Telegraph Track traverse through the park where you cross stunning creeks with numerous bush camps along the way, at the southern end of the northern section of the track, an easy drive off the bypass road just before you enter the park you will find Fruit Bat Falls and Eliot / Twin Falls, Fruit Bat is day use only, Eliot Falls allows camping has toilet facilities and fresh water, this is a very popular camp during the season permits are required they can be obtained from The Queensland Department Of National Parks using the ParksQ system.

Further along you will reach the Jardine River there is a vehicle ferry to take you across, the old drive through crossing is not recommended due to the depth and sandy bottom, from here you travel north towards Bamaga 7km on the right hand side is the turn off to Ussher Point, Ussher Point is located on the east coast of the Cape, it can be quite windy through the dry months with the south easterly provaling wind, the track is 62km in length but can take over four hours to travel due to it's narrowness, there are various bush camping sites available, permits are required.

There are no rubbish bins through out the park so please take your rubbish with you and collect fire wood as you travel as it becomes hard to find around the popular camps as the season go's on, at no time damage live trees.
